A Cat, a Rollator, and a Wheelchair: A Crochet Story

A Cat, a Rollator,

and a Wheelchair:

A Crochet Story

My cat, Cosmos, is a mischievous little creature. He loves to explore and investigate everything, and sometimes that means chewing on things he shouldn't. Recently, his target became my wheelchair and rollator. The foam was starting to tear, and it was becoming an uncomfortable eyesore.

I love getting out and about, and I couldn't bear the thought of my mobility being limited because of a mischievous feline. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands, or should I say, hooks!

I've always enjoyed crocheting, and I knew it was the perfect solution. I could create custom covers that would be both durable and comfortable. I gathered my favorite yarns – "Happy Face," "Maiden Fair," and "Fruit Flavored" – and got to work. The yarn names themselves brought a smile to my face, and I knew this project was going to be fun.

The first challenge was figuring out the right size and shape for the covers. I measured the wheelchair and rollator carefully, taking into account the curves and angles. Then, I started crocheting, using a simple stitch pattern that would create a smooth and stretchy fabric.

It took a few weeks of dedicated crocheting, but finally, the covers were complete! I carefully fitted them onto the wheelchair and rollator, and they fit rather well. I am still working on small tweaks to the fit and design.

As for Cosmos, he was initially curious about the new covers, but he quickly realized that they weren't as tasty as the old ones. In fact, he likes the squishy texture, and wants to go for walker-rides with me more often. He's learned his lesson, and now he spends his time exploring other, less tempting objects.
